Former Liverpool midfielder Dietmar Hamann has recommended that his old club consider signing Borussia Dortmund’s talented defender, Nico Schlotterbeck. Schlotterbeck, who has also been linked with Chelsea, is seen as a potential valuable addition to the Reds’ squad.
Schlotterbeck, at 25 years old, has distinguished himself as a top-tier centre-back in the Bundesliga. His contributions were crucial in Borussia Dortmund’s journey to becoming Bundesliga runners-up in the 2022-23 season and reaching the UEFA Champions League final in 2024.
Despite his importance to Dortmund, there are speculations about Schlotterbeck potentially leaving the club, especially as Dortmund currently sits in eighth position in the Bundesliga table for the 2024-25 season. Chelsea are reportedly interested, but Hamann believes Liverpool should also compete for his signature.

Speaking recently with PokerScout, an online bookmaker, Dietmar Hamann advocated for Liverpool to pursue Schlotterbeck in the upcoming summer transfer window. Hamann pointed out:
