Liverpool are reportedly the latest club to join the competition with Manchester United and Arsenal for Napoli’s prolific striker, Victor Osimhen, currently on loan at Galatasaray. According to reports, the Reds are considering the Nigerian international as a potential replacement for Darwin Nunez.
Osimhen’s impressive performances for Napoli have made him a sought-after player in recent transfer windows. Despite being currently loaned to Galatasaray from the Italian club, it appears his long-term future does not lie at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium.
With a reported £62 million release clause, Osimhen could be an attainable target for several top European clubs. Besides Liverpool, Manchester United, Arsenal, and Chelsea have all previously registered interest in securing the 26-year-old forward’s services.

Victor Osimhen has cemented his status as one of the world’s most clinical finishers following a high-profile move from Lille to Napoli, reportedly for €70 million. His contributions were pivotal in Napoli’s Serie A title victory in the 2022-23 season, earning him the Serie A Footballer of the Year award in 2023.
His track record at Napoli speaks volumes; Osimhen has amassed an impressive 76 goals and 12 assists in 133 appearances. His loan spell at Galatasaray this season has further highlighted his consistent form, with 26 goals and five assists in 30 games, including 20 goals in the Super Lig alone.
Liverpool’s reported interest in Osimhen stems from concerns over Uruguayan striker Darwin Nunez’s inconsistent form. Despite arriving at Anfield in 2022 for a club-record £85 million, Nunez has struggled to replicate his previous goal-scoring exploits consistently.
This season, Nunez has recorded just seven goals and seven assists in 40 appearances. In total, he has made 136 appearances for Liverpool, contributing 40 goals and 24 assists. The Reds might be looking to Osimhen for a more reliable attacking threat.

In other transfer news, Liverpool and Arsenal have reportedly entered the race to sign Wolves’ highly-rated defender, Rayan Ait-Nouri, who was already a target for Manchester United. Ait-Nouri has impressed since joining Wolves from Angers in 2021 for a reported £10 million fee.
A versatile player, Ait-Nouri can operate effectively as both a left-back and a left wing-back, with his attacking prowess being a standout attribute. With Wolves currently positioned 17th in the league table, a summer exit for the Algerian international seems increasingly likely.
Across all competitions this season, Ait-Nouri has scored four goals and provided five assists in 32 appearances. Valued at £40 million, the 23-year-old is attracting attention from a host of Premier League giants, including Liverpool, Arsenal, Manchester United, and Tottenham Hotspur, according to Football Insider.
